Usage Instructions

Maintenance/Routine Application Rate:

Ponds with Aquatic Plants:

• Use 0.5 lbs of Koi Pharma® Pure Salt per 100 gallons of pond water for a 0.05% (0.5 ppt) concentration.

Ponds without Aquatic Plants:

• Use 1.5 lbs of Koi Pharma® Pure Salt per 100 gallons of pond water for a 0.15% (1.5 ppt) concentration.

Persistent Problem Application Rate:

Ponds with Aquatic Plants:

• Use 0.75 lbs of Koi Pharma® Pure Salt per 100 gallons of pond water for a 0.075% (0.75 ppt) concentration.

Ponds without Aquatic Plants:

• Use 3 lbs of Koi Pharma® Pure Salt per 100 gallons of pond water for a 0.3% (3.0 ppt) concentration.

Quarantining Application Rate: 

• Use 5 lbs of Koi Pharma® Pure Salt per 100 gallons of pond water for a 0.5% (5.0 ppt) concentration. Maintain this level for up to 2 weeks, then gradually reduce by performing water changes.

Important Precautions

• Avoid Overdosing: Monitor salt concentration carefully, especially in ponds with aquatic plants. Excess salt mounds in the pond can cause salt burns. 
  
• Remove Zeolite Products: Ensure all zeolite products are removed before adding salt.
• No Concurrent Medications: Do not use with Koi Pharma® Pure Broad Spectrum or other Formalin and Malachite Green treatments.
• Monitor Salinity: Salt does not evaporate or get filter out. Use a salinity meter to confirm concentrations before adding more salt, especially after water changes.
• Water Condition Stability: Follow usage instructions precisely to avoid harm to fish and other aquatic life.
